Entertainment

Being the hardworking, diligent scientists that we are, we don’t have much time for entertainment in the field (except watching half-naked colleagues chasing blown away toilet seats, of course). This changes, however, when the weather turns on us and it becomes unsafe to work outside. Most of us bring books and electronic devices for such occasions, but we have been known to sit around our field laptop to watch a movie or two together.

Gathering in the science tent with our favorite drinks and just chatting away is also a good way to pass the time and get to know our field partners better. The best entertainment of all, of course, is to simply stick our heads out and enjoy the amazing view of the Dry Valleys covered in snow.
